The Rockland Talbot House is operated as a vacation rental B&B and offers guests the best of both worlds. This queen room is decorated in an historic palette with a contemporary twist that features tones of turquoise, chocolate brown, taupe and ivory. The room has a sitting and desk area, 12 foot ceilings and two large windows facing south and west that allow lots of natural light. The custom window dressings include black-out shades.

As with all of our guest rooms there is complimentary high-speed internet, air-conditioning, flat screen TV (smart TV), lots of electrical outlets and bedside reading lights. The large, private attached bath has a large luxury walk-in shower with double shower heads and a rain shower.

This room is located on the first floor which makes it a great choice for our guests with mobility challenges.

This guest room is located on the 2nd floor and is painted a cheery hazel blue with pops of magenta and cream giving it a fun vibe. The room features a queen bed and offers a desk and sitting area and a large closet. It has 11 foot ceilings and two large windows that face south and west with black-out panels included in the custom window treatments.

As with all of our guest rooms there is complimentary high-speed internet, air-conditioning, flat screen TV (smart TV), plenty of electrical outlets and bedside reading lights. The private attached bath though compact features a whirlpool tub with shower and ample storage.

This guest room is beautifully decorated in rich tones of navy and royal blues with a featured paisley print and a sweet crystal chandelier that gives it a modern take on the French Country look. The room features a carved wooden queen bed and offers a desk and sitting area and a large closet. The room is located on the 2nd floor and it also has 11 foot ceilings and two oversized windows allowing lots of natural light and facing east and south. The custom window treatments include black-out panels.

As with all of our guest rooms there is complimentary high-speed internet, air-conditioning, flat screen TV (smart TV), lots of electrical outlets and reading lights. The private attached bath features a custom two-person walk-in shower with multiple heads, vanity area and ample storage.

The largest guestroom currently in the Rockland Talbot house, this king room features a beautiful antique king bed and it is decorated in a tapestry of rich colors that include navy, gold and claret. The room with its 11 foot ceilings and two oversized windows offers natural light from the east and north and are both dressed with custom window treatments with black-out panels.

As with all of our guest rooms, there is complimentary high-speed internet, air-conditioning, lots of electrical outlets in convenient locations, a flat screen TV and bedside reading lights. The large private attached bath has a vanity, ample storage and features a whirlpool tub with double shower heads.

This grand home was the subject of a famous Edward Hopper painting in 1928 and today it remains an historic architectural beauty inspiring a new age of artists. The current owners have worked to restore it to its original grandeur of 1875 by blending architectural details and craftsmanship seamlessly with the modern conveniences of today’s world. All guest rooms have their own in room controls for heat and air conditioning; flat screen TVs; complimentary high speed internet; lots of electrical outlets located in convenient places; and private en-suite attached baths with whirlpool tub/shower combinations or luxury walk-in showers. The rate includes a homemade breakfast and delicious homemade pies and the use of the inn’s many common areas including the library, grand parlor, kitchen, dining room, porch and sunroom.

Rockland Talbot House Policies

All policies are subject to change and in the case of discrepancies the policy in effect at the inn will prevail. Policies stated above were last reviewed 7/25/16.

Advanced Reservations: Advanced reservations are strongly recommended so that you are able to visit us on your preferred date and stay in your preferred guest room at our vacation rental B&B. Reservations are taken by office staff from 9am to 8:30pm daily (207-593-7393) and on-line 24 hours a day.

Advanced Deposit: An advanced deposit in the amount of 100% of the stay is required at time of booking. Please note that advanced deposits are automatically charged when booking online. If your stay is for greater than 7 days, we will gladly work out a payment program such that the balance is paid in full at least 30 days prior to the arrival date. The property gladly accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover payments.

Cancellation Policy: As a small vacation rental property cancellations greatly affect us. When you make your reservation we enter into a contract with you and we agree to hold your requested room for the nights that you requested and turn away any other potential guests looking to book. In the unfortunate event that you must change or cancel our contract, notice of 14 days or greater is required to refund the advanced deposit (less $75 cancellation fee or 10% of the advanced deposit whichever is greater). Although the property will do everything that we can to rebook the rooms and minimize the cancellation fee, guests will be responsible for the remainder of all charges as originally booked if changes or cancellations are received less than 14 days of the stated arrival.

If cancellation is a possibility or if air travel is part of your vacation, we would strongly suggest the purchase of travel insurance.

The cancellation policy for the Maine Lobster Festival, North Atlantic Blues Festival, Maine Boats and Harbor Festival, Pies on Parade, certain holidays and group events require a 21 to 30 day (Festival/Event specific) cancellation notice for a refund of your advanced deposit less $75 cancellation fee or 10% of the total advanced deposit (whichever is more).

Room Rates: Room rates assume single or double occupancy and include daily housekeeping services, a breakfast featuring a daily homemade hot entrée and evening sweets which feature a slice of pie and complimentary use of the many common areas. Rates are subject to change on a regular basis and do not include Maine’s required occupancy tax (currently at 9% as of 1/1/16). Every effort is made to keep all rates on the various internet websites accurate. The stated rate by the inn at the time of booking will supersede any rates printed on any website, print material or other sources that are outdated or in error. We would appreciate you bringing any rate discrepancies to our attention.

Check-In Times: We look forward to meeting you, introducing you to your home away from home in Rockland and perhaps helping you with your plans during your stay in the area. However, as a small 4 room property, we have limited staff available throughout the day so reserve from 4 to 6 pm for personalized check-ins. No worries, if your travels will have you arriving at the inn later than 6pm just LET US KNOW IN ADVANCE and we will email you customized instructions for entrance to the property, directions to your room and other information to help make your stay as comfortable as possible.

To allow for the property to be properly cleaned and staged for our next guests’ arrivals, earlier check in times in general cannot be accommodated. If you have a special event or medical circumstance that requires an earlier check-in time, please call us directly prior to the date of arrival to discuss the possibility of arranging an earlier arrival.

Check-Out Time: Check out time is 11am. We ask guests to leave their room keys in their room or at the designated key drop off location at the exit doors. Due to the cost of re-keying the doors, there is a $125 fee for all missing or non-returned keys.

Children: Although guests including young children are welcome at our property, at this time all of our guestrooms are limited to 2 persons and cannot accommodate a 3rd person of any age (from 1 to 99years old!). The property does not have high chairs, portable cribs or a regular children’s menu.

Smoking: The Rockland Talbot House is a smoke-free property. There is no smoking allowed inside the buildings including e-cigarettes. The designated area for smoking is outside on the back side porch. The inn reserves the right to charge the credit card on file $250 fee to cover the cost of deep cleaning and/or replacing upholstered furniture, window treatments, rugs and bedding if it is determined that a guest has violated the property’s policy and smoked in any location inside the inn.

Third Party Gift Cards, AAA and Loyalty Discounts: The Rockland Talbot House does not honor any third party gift cards or offer any 3rd party discounts. The only discounts recognized by the property are for longer stays and may exclude holidays, special event days and weekend nights.

Pet Policy: Although the innkeepers love animals, our Rockland ME lodging does not allow animals (other than service animals) on premise. We will gladly recommend a “Bed and Bone” boarding facility nearby for your four-legged travel mate.

Prevailing Lodging Tax: As a legal and licensed vacation rental B&B, all reservations are subject to the State of Maine’s prevailing lodging and sales tax requirements. As of 1/1/2016, the current rates are 9% for lodging and 5.5% sales tax respectfully.

Privacy Policy: The Rockland Talbot House is dedicated to protecting your privacy and safeguarding your personally identifiable information.

Information Collection: Our main purpose in collecting your personal information is to provide you with a streamlined experience in making reservations at the Rockland Talbot House. We only collect information about you that we consider necessary for achieving this. Personally identifiable information is only obtained when making a reservation. We sometimes use data collection devices such as “cookies” on certain pages of the Site to measure effectiveness and safety. A “cookie” is a small file that gets placed on your hard drive that helps us provide our services. You are free to decline cookies if you choose too.

Security: At the Rockland Talbot House, we take security seriously. When users make a reservation we use every precaution to safe guard it online and offline. Your payment and personal information is always safe. Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the internet.

Policy Modifications: The Rockland Talbot House may amend this Privacy Statement from time to time in order to meet changes in the regulatory environment, business needs, or to satisfy the needs of our guests, properties, strategic marketing partners, and service providers.

Owners

Cheryl and Mike, live right next door in the carriage house of the Berry Manor Inn. Although we pop in and out of the Talbot House all day long, generally we only have staff here for breakfast service, daily housekeeping and check in service (4-6pm). We can easily be reached, if you have a question or need to reach us during normal business hours or for an after hours emergency. As we have at the Berry Manor Inn, we have tried to appoint the rooms with everything that our guests need for a comfortable stay. The Rockland Talbot House is a totally separate operation from the Berry Manor Inn, it is a newly renovated property so your feedback to us is invaluable to us to make the property a place guests want to return to year after year.
