Weddings at Rockland Talbot House

We welcome ANY and ALL couples to be married at the Rockland Talbot House. Our mid-coast Maine inn offers an amazing space for small, intimate weddings or elopements with our Sun Room. This room is filled with natural light regardless of the weather outside, ensuring that your wedding photographs will be well-lit. The room can be closed from the main part of the house so that your privacy is maintained during the ceremony and small reception period after. We also can set up a second location near the water for the actual ceremony or for pictures afterward. There are several small beaches, lighthouses, and state parks in the area that will make a beautiful backdrop for your Rockland, Maine wedding. Please note that some do require an additional fee to hold a wedding.

We also offer romantic wedding add-ons and pampering options, with our Maine wedding packages. We can set up a horse and carriage ride to dinner, a wedding stylist to come to you the morning of the wedding to help with your hair and make-up, a spa day the day before or morning of, or a facial and couples’ massages. Just ask!

The package also includes the rental of the Rockland Talbot House Sun Room and wedding arbor for two hours from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. We take care of everything else for you – no stress, no worries, and no need to forego the down payment on your first home! Packages start at $1,560 and will vary based on time of year and day of the week.

To ensure the privacy and needs of both the wedding couple and other non-wedding guests staying on property, we require additional wedding guests that are not staying at the inn to arrive on premise no earlier than half an hour before the ceremony. If you are interested in renting the space for additional time and expanding the “reception” time to include appetizers or other food and beverage service, please let us know.  We will work with you to make it happen, with the understanding that additional charges may be incurred related to equipment set-up, clean-up, or rentals (linens, china, chairs, etc.). Marriage Licenses:

Marriage licenses are issued in Maine at any town or city municipal office. All couples, regardless of sexual orientation, can legally get married in the state of Maine. For people from out of state and planning to get married at the inn, you can obtain a marriage license at Rockland’s City Hall. If either of you are residents of Maine, then the license should be obtained in the town or city of residence. Both the bride and groom must visit the town office in person to apply for the marriage license. Your marriage license is valid for 90 days and can only be used within the state of Maine. There is no longer a requirement for blood tests, nor is there a waiting periodfrom the time your marriage license is issued until your wedding can take place. The person performing the ceremony is responsible for filing the marriage certificate with the town office that issued the marriage license. There is a filing fee of $30 (subject to change). To obtain a marriage license, applicants must be 18 years or older, have a photo ID (e.g., driver’s license) and social security number. If this is not the first marriage for one of you, bring a certified copy (raised seal) of the divorce from or death certificate of the last spouse.
